We have a bathroom in an older house with no good ceiling access to install a vent fan. So, we needed to install a wall mount fan to take the humidity from showers out. We bought this fan, and had a licensed electrician install it. Thing is, it simply doesn't work, and now I have a hole in the side of my house cut specifically to this unit and my problem isn't at all solved.
Trouble is, this fan cannot make a seal against the interior wall, so some of the air blows right out the sides of the unit. After a 10 minute shower, the wall below and to the sides of this fan is dripping wet. I mean soaking, and that's only for a normal, 10 minute shower. At first I thought we had just missed something in the installation, but the metal housing that holds the fan has several large, obvious paths for air to escape out the top, sides, and bottom. There's little to be done about it. Even when I tried to seal these gaps with duct tape as a trial solution, there are plenty smaller ways for air to escape.
We spent over two weeks trying to get a hold of customer service, and never got a live person who knew anything about fans to talk with us. I'm disappointed in both the product and the company, and I feel others should pass over this fan when looking for a wall mounted fan.
