I bought this unit because it's the least conspicuous looking unit of all the electric baseboard thermostats. The unit is fairly easy to install, but the manufacturer could have provided more simple instructions for upgrading from a conventional manual thermostat. Unless your electric cables are labeled, you will need a multimeter to determine which cable coming into your thermostat's electric box is the load cable and which is the power cable. The unit supports 240 volt power which is the standard voltage for the majority of baseboard heaters. You can determine if you have a 240 volt heater by looking at your electric panel switch; if the heater's switch takes up one slot then it's 120 volt, if it has two slots then it's 240 volt.

You have to change the thermostat's dip switch settings before attaching the unit on the wall. The dip switch has a time format (24/12hr) switch, a temperature format switch (Celsius/Fahrenheit) and an Early Start switch. The Early Start mode calculates the optimal time to start heating to reach the programmed time's temperature.

The thermostat has a cool and warm temperature setting. The cool setting is represented by a Moon symbol and the warm setting is represented by a Sun symbol. Each of the 4 daily programmed times is associated with one of these temperature settings; this keeps the user interface simple, but limits you from having a different temperature setting for each programmed time. The unit also has a vacation mode temperature setting, but this setting is manually invoked and is not associated with a programmed time.

Pros:
It has a low profile; once mounted, it sits approximately 2cm/0.8inches off the wall.

It's the least conspicuous unit of all the electric baseboard thermostat.

It's simple to override the program settings. Press the up/down buttons to incrementally change the temperature or jump right to the cooler/warmer temperature by pressing the moon/sun button.

There are stickers with programming instructions that can be attached on the back of the front panel, so that you don't have to dig out the user manual.

Cons:
The LCD panel does not have a back light.

The time format, temperature format and Early Start mode have to be set before mounting the thermostat on the wall.

When a heating cycle starts, there is click sound. The click is much louder than even my manual thermostat relay. This thermostat may not be good choice for a bedroom thermostat as it will wake a light sleeper. For your bedroom, look for a thermostat with a solid state switch rather than relay switch that clicks.

The heat cycle works in 15 minutes increments only. I prefer the 15 second cycle available with other models as the temperature stays at a more consistent temperature and the heater heats at a low level once the room is up to the set temperature.
